Google announced that, effective June 3, 2026, it has added new “Generative AI Performance Reports” to the Search Console platform to help website owners better analyze their AI visibility in the search engine.
👉 With this update, website owners will be able to track the visibility of their sites’ AI features on Search and Discover in a more detailed and granular manner.
Custom Reporting Dashboard for AI Visibility
Until now, visibility data for websites regarding AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, and other AI-powered experiences has been tracked as part of general performance reports.
While Google continues to include this data in the general report, it has begun offering site owners a separate, dedicated view that focuses specifically on visibility derived from AI features.

What Metrics Are Included in the New Reports?
The new performance reports include the following specific data to help you understand how your website pages perform in AI search results:
- Impressions: How often your site’s URLs appear in the AI-powered features in Search and Discover.
- Pages: Exactly which URLs from your site appear in the AI-powered features.
- Countries: A country-by-country breakdown of your website’s AI visibility.
- Devices: The devices users are using when they see your site in AI results (This metric applies only to Search results).
- Dates: Changes in performance over time; track performance by daily, weekly, and monthly periods.
Launch Process and Development Plans
Google is currently rolling out these new reports in phases, making them available only to a limited group of websites for now, in order to conduct extensive testing and gather feedback before making them available to all users.
👉 In the future, additional metrics are planned to be added to the system to help site owners shape their strategies.
Google is asking users with access to these features to share their experiences via the “Submit feedback” link in Search Console, a dedicated feedback form, or the Google Search Central Community. Technical details regarding the relevant data structures can be found in the Help Center documentation.
As Google rolls out the reports gradually, it continues to work on new metrics and reporting options based on user feedback.
The Strategic Importance of AI Visibility in Search Console for Brands
Until now, visibility gained from AI-powered search experiences has been evaluated as part of overall performance data. Thanks to new reports, brands will be able to analyze the visibility and performance they gain from AI-powered search experiences in greater detail. This development may make it even more important for brands to evaluate their SEO efforts alongside AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) approaches.
